Carolyne Jean (Woodard) Harris

Carolyne Harris was born to Lou Nettie Beckworth Woodard and Elmer Woodard on October 27, 1946, in Rusk County. She was called home on March 16, 2024.

Carolyne attended Church with her mother and siblings at a young age at Smith Chapel Church in Mayflower.

Carolyne graduated from Mary C. Womack. After graduating, she started her college studies in becoming lab technician. She graduated and was employed by Good Shepherd Medical Center. Carolyn retired from the hospital after 31 years.

During those time of her life, she met her husband, Willie C. Harris. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in July.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Teresa and Kay Francis Woodard and great-grandson Royal Woodard.

Carolyne is survived by her husband, Mr. Willie Harris; her daughter, Lafrenda Hilburn; her step-children, Kenneth, Ronnie, Marjorie, Cederic; her grandkids, Lachandria, Trevorris, Meyanna; great grandchildren, Keonte, Tya, Thaza; siblings, Betty Ramsour, (Alton), Shirley Moore, (Glen), Margie Woodward, (Larry), Marilyn Woodard, Billie Brown, (Don) Donnell Woodward, Mickey Woodard along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Carolyne Harris will be remembered for the big heart she had and her home cooked meals she loved to prepare.
