Alice Marie Beck

Alice Marie Brookins was born December 17, 1940 to the parentage of Anniel and Lucy Mae Sterling Brookins. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System.

Alice was a 1960 graduate of the Galilee School of Hallsville. After graduation she worked as a seamstress at Kilgore Manufacturing for many years and later in the home health field.

Alice united with the Galilee Baptist Church in Hallsville, TX at an early age, and later moved her worship to the Evergreen Baptist Church of Hallsville. She was a member of the choir, a deaconess and served where ever her service was needed. She served as a faithful member until her health no longer permitted her to attend services.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents Anniel and Lucy Brookins; seven brothers James Perry Brookins, Anniel Brookins Jr., John Brookins, L C Brookins, Charles Brookins, James Earl Brookins and Franklin Johnson; four sisters Mary Brookins, Margaret Brookins Cooks, Lucy Mae Brookins Watkins and Beaulah Lee Brookins Carpener.

On October 29, 1960, she married J D Beck and to this blessed union three children were born.

Alice is survived by: her husband of fifty-eight years, J D Beck; two daughters, Sandra Sheffield (Leo Jr.) of Round Rock, TX and Jerelyn Maxey (Lloyd) of Hallsville, TX; one son, Joe Beck (Angelia) of Hallsville, TX; one sister, Brenda Joyce Brookins Smith; one brother, Wilbert Lee Brookins; ten grandchildren; a very special niece, Vikki Calhoun (Johnny) of Corsicana, TX; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
