Allen Vaughn was born August 10, 1943, in Karnack, Texas, He was born to the late Cleve Vaughn Sr. and Armelia Williams
Vaughn.
Allen was a hard working man and cared dearly for his family. He loved traveling, playing dominoes, and hanging out in his backyard having a good time barbecuing.
Allen graduated from George Washington Carver High School in May, 1963. Immediately after graduating he married the love of his life, Berthena Buchanan on July 15, 1963. Shortly after being
united they traeled to Los Angeles, California.
There he began his lifelong career as a roofer attending roofing
school. He was a member of the local union. He traveled to
different states as well as local cities roofing many businesses
and homes. To say that he was an excellent roofer would be an
understatement. Many people called on him day and night to not
only do roofing jobs, but other odds and ends that were needed.
He was a very dependable and honest man. You could always
count on him.
In Los Angeles, California four children were born: Lisa (Joe)
Evans, Wanda (Lynn) Roach, Byron, Ericka (Charles) Feggett Sr.
In addition to the four children, an abundance of grandchildren
arrived: Demetrius Vaughn, Lanasha (Jimmy) Hall, Lynn’Trevia
Roach, Jahylen Vaughn, Zoten (Kathryn) Grant, & Xavier
Hopson; 14 great grandchildren; two great
-great
-grandchildren;
a special niece: Vickie Jameson; sisters: Catherine Yanes
(South Gates, California), Patricia (Robert) Roland (Dallas,
Texas), LaCie (Warren) Livingston (Fort Worth, Texas), Regina
Gate Vaughn (Karnack, Texas), and Estell (Michael) Moody
(Karnack, Texas); brothers: Cleve (Patsy) Vaughn Jr. (Dallas,
Texas), Earnest (Gloria) Vaughn, SImmie Vaughn (Karnack,
Texas), and Vance Vaughn (Karnack, Texas); and a host of other
relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents; grandson: Darkis R.
Vaughn; great
-grandson: DaVonta Farrer; brother: Alvoid
Vaughn; sisters: Annie B. Vaughn and Thelma Byrd.
