Alton Alexander Henderson, Sr. was born February 22, 1953, in Gilmer, Texas to the parentage of the late Cicero & Connie Mae Webb Henderson. He graduated from Gilmer High School in 1972.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Cicero & Connie Mae Webb Henderson; son: Joey Espy; granddaughter: Baylee Washington; four brothers: Robert Henderson, Leonard Henderson Sr., Willie Granville, and Junior Craig; and four sisters: Verna Lee Williams, Clydie Mae Bowser, Hulean Hall and Johnnie Faye Jones.

He is survived by his children: Joanna Jimerson, Fredericka Washington, Sharon Kennedy, Alton Henderson Jr. and Ashley Henderson; grandchildren: Bryson Freeman, Martavious Henderson, Ca’Tavien Barnett, Danielle Shillow, Braylon Franklin, Ajah Henderson, Germany Henderson, Josiah Washington, Traylon Jones, Alton Lee Henderson, Kah’maiya Espy, Kailyauna Espy, and Alyvia McAlister; five great -grandchildren: and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
