Annie Ruth Harris was the fourth child to Annie B. (White) and John Wesley Jones, Sr.
She joined the Willow Grove Church in Coushatta, LA at a young age. After marrying and moving to Texas, she joined Lake Providence Baptist Church in Gilmer, then became a faithful member of Macedonia Apostolic Church in Diana until her health prevented her from attending in person.
Annie received her education at Springville High School in Coushatta, LA.
Annie worked for Sunbeam in Coushatta, LA, and retired from Longview News Journal in 2002 after 25 years of service as Maintenance Supervisor.
Annie enjoyed traveling, music, church, and had the privilege of helping raise her very special granddaughter, Emma Grace.
After a lengthy illness, Annie Ruth went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 8, 2024, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her biological parents, Annie B. and John Wesley Jones, Sr. and her adoptive parents, Melvin and Lela Mae Jones, sister Mary Lee “Rose” Sherman, sister Ruthie Mae Woods, and brother John “Man” Wesley Jones, Jr.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband BJ Harris, one very devoted and caring son, Baron (Mitzie), stepson Keenan Harris, granddaughter Emma Grace, granddaughter Destiny (Darius), granddaughter Madelyn Willis, and grandson Jonathan Willis, and one great grandson Kortez Lawrence, sister Irma Lavergne, brothers Glen Jones and Rueben Jones, sister Ester (Alvin) Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews and countless other family and friends.
