Annie L. Wilkes, more commonly known as Sweetie, was born on Saturday, August 26, 1939, to Leo Moon and Jennie B. Stevens in Jefferson, Texas. She transitioned on Friday, December 27, 2024.
At an early age, Annie accepted Christ and was baptized at New Zion Baptist Church where she later served in the choir and as a member of the Usher Board. She later attended and became a
member of Perry Clay Chapel CME until her health declined. She attended and graduated from Macedonia High School.
After obtaining her education, she was geared to providing for her children, working for Jordan Health Services in which she retired from, as well as being a registered sitter. When not working she
could be found watching her favorite soap operas, game shows, and loving on her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, six sisters, five brothers and daughter Crystal Salina Wilkes.
She leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Charles Moon of Longview, Texas, Dale Moon (Suzette) of Longview, Texas and Ellis Moon (Anitra) of Longview, Texas; daughter: Danelle Kenney
(LeDeal) of Longview, Texas; brother: Curtis Moon (Pearl) of Dallas, Texas; two sisters: Robbie Durden (Edgar) of Jefferson, Texas and Dora McCain of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren:
Desiree Moon of Longview, Texas, Alexis Griffin (Korey) of Longview, Texas, Kalea Kenney of Houston, Texas, LeDeal M. Kenney (Two) of Longview, Texas, Diamond McLeod of Waco, Texas, Jhaquesia Kenney of Kilgore, Texas, and LaShell Kenney of Dallas, Texas; seven great-grandchildren: A’Layla Bartley of Longview, Texas, Nyla Simmons of Longview, Texas, Kylie Tate of Longview, Texas, Rahheem Kenney of Kilgore, Texas, Aayana Edwards of Dallas, Texas, Jahlea Edwards of Dallas, Texas, and Malaysia Kenney of Dallas, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews,
cousins and friends who will also continue to cherish her memory.
