B. J. Wilborn Obituary

On February 16,  1938 in Dawson, Texas, Annie Matthews welcomed a new born son,; she named him BJ Wilborn.  He was lovingly raised by his grandmother Sallie Wilborn in Gilmer, Texas, where he attended school.

A hard worker throughout his life, he was an electrician for a number of years; however, he retired from the city of Longview parks and recreation department after many years.

BJ married the love of his life Gloria Ford on October 16, 1967 ; the couple was blessed with one child; they named her Rachel.

He was a long-time member of the East Cotton Street Church of Christ  where for many years he helped to maintain the church grounds.  Too, he happily helped with the offering  and with communion.

Numerous family members and friends will lovingly remember BJ.  They include his wife of 57 years, Gloria; his daughter, Rachel Terrell; granddaughter, Jayda Terrell; his grandson, Jawaun Carter; and a special nephew, Kevin Thomas—all of Longview, Texas.  His church family, neighbors and friends will also forever cherish his memory.
