Born on June 16, 1945, in Longview, Texas to the union of Roy Lawson Sr. & Isabella Denson Lawson.
Betty attended Kilgore College where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse. Betty was a nurse for over 40 years. She was the lead nurse for many of those years. Betty was also one of the pioneer leaders of the ne Dialysis Unit at Good Shepherd Medical Center. She retired from Good Shepherd as the Supervisor of that Department.
On October, 21, 1072, Betty was united in Holy matrimony with her husband Leroy King Sr. and they lived a loving life together for fifty-three years.
Betty was a member of Center Baptist Church where she attended until her health would not allow her to attend.
Betty Marie Lawson King peacefully passed away on November 28, 2025 in Longview, Texas, at the age of 80.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Leroy King Sr.; two sons, Shawn (Dionne) Lawson and Leroy (Patricia) King Jr., one brother Billy (Karen) Lawson, sister-in-law Debra Lawson. Seven Grandchildren: Jaylan Lawson, Jordan Lawson, Ananda King, Da’rin King. Jaylynn and Laylah Smith, and Kambria Williams, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and church family and friends who loved her.
Preceding her in death are her parents Roy and Isabella Lawson. Five brothers: John L Lawson, Roy Lawson Jr., RL Lawson, Willie Lawson, and Sam Lawson and four sisters Mary Ann King, Ruby Jewel Brown, Valerie Jackson, and Jessie Mae Hollins.
