Betty Thurmond

Betty Jean Coby Thurmond was born July 2, 1952 to the parentage of James L. Coby and Dorothy J. Thomas Coby.

She was a graduate of Longview High School and then attended Kilgore College. Early on she was active in softball.

Betty J. Coby and Ray A. Thurmond were united in marriage on January 25, 1974 and to this union two daughters were born.

Betty enjoyed serving a home cooked meal to her family and friends. She loved playing games on the computer and spending time with her family. Later in life, due to many health issues, Betty wasn't able to participate in as many activities as she desired.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, twin Bobbie Jean and sister Paulette Cook.

Her loving memories will be cherished by her husband, Ray; daughters, Kelley Burton (Derecko) and Sharla Stansell (Vince); grandchildren, Aniah, Jasper, Rayvin, and Yohance. She also leaves siblings Robert Crayton, James Coby (Barbara), Pauline Brown; nieces and nephews along with a host of relatives and friends.
