On April 6, 1951 Bobby was born to the late Jessie A. Hood and Sarah Ann Hughes. He departed this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Christus Good Shepherd in Longview, Texas.
Bobby was a member of St. John Baptist Church where he was ordained as a deacon under the pastorage of the late Rev. J. A. Gholston. He later joined the Red Oak Baptist Church where he served on the usher board.
He attended Mary C. Womack school and was a graduate of the class of 1970. He also attended Kilgore Jr. College where he studied Police Science and where he received his certification in welding. Bobby served two years (1970-1972) in the U. S. Army where he received a National Defense Service Medal. He was also member of the National Guards.
He was employed at Marathon LeTourneau for 12 years, and Lone Star Steel where he retired after 28 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents Jessie Hood and Sarah Ann Hughes, his grandson Christain Micah Wilson, three sisters, and four brothers.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 47 years Betty Wiley Hood, his daughters LaHeather Hood Wilson of Dallas, Schereka Hood Stein (Don) of Ft. Worth and Kim Webb (Anthony) of Longview. His grandsons; Jace Hood of Commerce, Caleb and Joshua Wilson of Dallas, and his granddaughter Asia Jackson of Ft. Worth. Sisters; Mary Jane Thompson and Dorris Lewis of Longview, Mary Simon of Missouri, Linda Johnson and Bobbi Hood of Lubbock and Helen Smith and Dorothy Hood of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Brothers; Jessie Ray Hood of Abernathy Texas, Raymond Hood and Earnest Hood of Lubbock, Dery Hood of Dallas; and numerous brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
