On Tuesday, June 4, 2019, God needed another angel. Although we are left to grieve, he has been welcomed by God into His ever‐loving light. On September 12, 1940 Cleveland and Alice Halton birth the youngest of eight children in Greenville, Texas.
This son would be given the name Buford and affectionately be known as “Dee” by family and friends. Buford was educated at Ned E. Williams public school.
He was a faithful employee of The City of Longview for thirty‐five years and never missed a day. During this time, he formed many relationships and bonds with his co‐workers and friends that lasted throughout his life.
Buford was loved dearly by those who surrounded him. His children: Edward Halton of Carthage, TX, Vernon Halton (Teri) and Buford Halton Jr. both of San Diego, CA, Greg Colbert (Beverly) and Donny Colbert (Sherry) both of Longview, TX; his siblings: Fred Halton (Audrey) of San Diego, CA and Betsy Price (James) of San Diego, CA; five siblings preceded him in death; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great‐grandchildren, and many more will cherish his memories.
