Burnett Reese known as Sam or Chubby, was born on October 5, 1958 as a twin to Genatt Reese to the parents of Mr. Jimmy and Mrs. Voreecie Watkins Reese.
Burnett was married to Roberta Abraham Reese for over 29 years. Burnett attended Longview ISD. He graduated with the Class of 1976. Over the years he was employed with Norris Cylinder, The City of Longview and LISD Transportation.
Burnett was a member of New Jerusalem under the leadership of the late Elder J. L. Watkins (Uncle) and Elder Kenneth Pruitt.
Burnett was preceded in death by his parents: Jimmy and Voreecie Reese; wife: Roberta Reese; brother: Charles Holland; and twin sister Genatt Reese.
Burnett leaves to cherish his memories one son: Lemarcus Reese; three granddaughters: Passion Gipson, Precious Gipson and Asia Sheppard; grandson: Jakhyin Reese; two great-grandchildren: Rosie and Rylie Sheppard; sisters: Jessie Johnson, Carolyn Horton (James) and Dinetha Reese; brothers: James Reese, Jerry Reese (Fay), Milton Reese (Lois) and Jimmy Reese Jr. (Georgia Mae); aunt: Lurlene Watkins Shelton; uncle: Calvin Watkins (Pearl); a very special friend, Pauline Cartwright; and, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lots of friends.
