Candice Canida Obituary

Candice Mikele Canida was born January 7, 1976, in Longview Texas to Michael and JoAnne Canida. She was the firstborn child and was truly loved by her parents and grandparents.  She  accepted her faith in Christ at an early age at the Pleasant Hill CME Church serving as a leader in Sunday School, Choir, and was active on the district level of the Youth and Young Adults in the Longview/Marshall District. She later joined Post Oak CME Church under the leadership of Rev. C.E. Mitchell. While living in Dallas, Candice visited many churches and volunteered her time;
however, her heart and her membership remained at Post Oak CME Church.

Candice attended Longview Public Schools. She graduated with honors from Longview High School in the class of 1994. She excelled in many activities as an honor student and a Globe Scholar. She was outstanding in track and running cross country where she received many awards and accolades. Her education continued at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She also  studied at the University of Phoenix where she received her Certifications in Computer & Information Technology.

Candice worked for several global companies in the Information Technology industry including Apple and Checkpoint. While working for Checkpoint she excelled and was selected to travel to  Jerusalem for training and development to train her team in Texas. She was currently employed with HCL Technology. As her health was declining, she was grateful and thankful for the support  that she received from her employers at HCL. They put her health before anything else allowing her to work from home permanently and to God Be The Glory.

Candice had an infectious laughter that will always be remembered and cherished. Her kindness and her boldness to speak to others about God’s Grace and his goodness will live forever in the hearts of those who truly loved her.

As she rests, she leaves in love her devoted parents: Michael and JoAnne Canida, brother: Nicholas M. Canida; the joy of her life, nephews: Caden Joseph Canida and Michael N. Canida. Also,  her adopted grandparents: PawPaw and Madear, Rev. & Mrs. C. E. Mitchell. She also cherished her Sisters from another Mother, along with a host of other family and friends.
