Clyde Henry Boyd Sr. Obituary

Clyde Henry Boyd, Sr. was born on March 17, 1941, in Longview, Texas, to Bennie Leroy Boyd and Ruby Bell Harper Boyd. He was the third of their children and grew up surrounded by a large loving family. Throughout his life, Clyde was known for his quiet strength, generous heart, and unwavering love for those around him.

In 1973, Clyde began his career with Eastman Chemical Company, where he faithfully worked until his retirement. His years of dedication reflected the same values that defined his life, hard work, commitment, and integrity.

Clyde found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved watching classic cowboy movies, spending time in the kitchen preparing meals, barbecuing, and opening his home and table to family, neighbors, and friends. No one ever left his presence hungry or without feeling welcomed. His greatest lesson was not one he simply spoke, but one he lived every day: always look at a person's heart. He believed character mattered more than appearances and taught his family to treat everyone with kindness, compassion, and respect.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie Leroy Boyd and Ruby Bell Harper Boyd; his brothers, Robert T. Boyd, Bennie C. Boyd, Sr., and James E. Boyd; his sisters, Ella Faye Boyd and Dora M. Whitaker; his uncle, Sam Boyd, Jr.; and his beloved grandson, Michel D. Bell, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sisters, Annette Wallace and Patsy Shaw (Roger); his children, Michel D. Bell (Christina), Clyde H. Boyd, Jr., Harvey A. Boyd (Bridget), Latonya N. Lister (Samuel), Nikesha D. Boyd, and Rachel E. Boyd.

He was a proud grandfather to Stefen Bell, Brittney Ledet, Zanden Bell, Zaylor Bell, Aleshia Boyd, Jaemerick Boyd, Steffon Taylor, Megan Boyd, Christopher Boyd, Jasmine Boyd, Hayley Boyd, Harvey Boyd, Jr., Ashley Jackson, Ladarius Moore, Dymetria Lister, and Cierra Baltrip. He was also blessed with 12 great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Clyde's legacy is not measured only by the years he lived, but by the love he freely gave, the meals he lovingly prepared, the wisdom he shared, and the lives he touched. Though he is no longer with us, his example of generosity, humility, and seeing the good in others will continue to live on through everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love a gift that will remain in our hearts forever.
