Clyde Willie Chumbley was born on February 12, 1943, to the parentage of the late Reed Chumbley & Irene Ayers Chumbley. Clyde graduated from Mayflower School in the year of 1961. He was a loving husband and father who loved to gather with family and friends. To those who knew him, he was known as “the rib man.” Barbeque was the thing he was most passionate about and he loved to brag about how good his ribs were. He loved to just sit back and watch others eat and enjoy his cooking. He was a hard worker all his life until his retirement from Texas Eastman in 2000.
Clyde departed this earthly life on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Preceding his passing was his brothers: XL Chumbley and Arlee Chumbley; and sister: Gladis Faye Chumbley Bradley.
He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Shaylor Chumbley (Henderson, Texas) and Jackie Skillern (Longview); son: Corwin “Marcus” (Shurhonda) Chumbley (Kilgore, Texas); seven grandchildren: Nakeisha Givens, Stevie Reese Jr., Tamar Fletcher, Deboriah Faggans, Courtney Borders, Keandra Borders, and, Shaina Stephenson; seven great-grandchildren; brottherin-law: Clifford "Ray" Bradley; and, a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
