David Johnson Obituary


David Keith Johnson was born in Henderson, Texas to the union of Alvis Johnson and Arthur Lena (Alexander) Johnson on October 25, 1959. David accepted Christ and was baptized  at an early age at the Swancy Street Baptist Church in Longview, Texas. He recommitted his life to Christ as an Adult and accepted the call of ministry on his life.

David attended school in Longview Independent School District where he graduated High School in 1978. He attended Kilgore College, Kilgore, Texas majoring in Commercial Art. He worked for many years at Bass Chevrolet, Longview, Texas; Sabine Valley MHMR, Sherman, Texas; and Gainesville State School, Gainesville, Texas. He enjoyed working with young people, especially Young men, planting seeds of Love and hope in those he encountered. When he wasn’t working, David enjoyed going to Movies and Longview Lobo football games with his son, Daniel. He was passionate about Art. David loved to paint pictures of his favorite Musicians while listening to music.

David was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his father and mother.

He leaves to Cherish his memory: his son, Daniel A. Johnson; a brother, Alvis R. Johnson, Sr.;  two sisters, Vicki Stevenson (Lois) and Dr. Barbara D. Johnson; nephews, Alvis R. Johnson, Jr., Ricky L. Shaw; nieces, Melodie Austin (Brian), Kierra M. Johnson, and Destiney K. Johnson; 5 great nieces; 4 great nephews; 1 great-great nephew and a host of Cousins, Classmates, Friends and Co-workers.
