Deavan L. Johnson

Deavan La’Shai Johnson was born February 11th, 1987 in Longview, Texas to Darwin Johnson Sr. and the late Patricia Washington Johnson. 

Deavan was baptized at an early age by her grandfather, Pastor W.R. Washington at the Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Linden, Texas. 

Deavan attended Longview Independent School District from elementary to high school. She graduated Longview High School in May 2005. 

Deavan was known for her strong soprano voice and used her melodic voice to sing in many local choirs and was a faithful member of the Texas Mass Choir for over twenty years. 

Deavan was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Johnson, her maternal grandmother and her paternal grandparents.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her beautiful daughter, Karrington Johnson-Dace of Arlington, Texas; her father, Darwin Johnson Sr. of Longview, Texas; sister, D’Andria Johnson of Plano, Texas; brother, Darwin Johnson Jr. of Longview, Texas; maternal grandfather, Pastor W.R. Washington of Harleton, Texas; a host of aunts, uncles; special nieces and nephews and extended family who will deeply miss her.
