Diann Hilburn Obituary

Diann Buchanan Hilburn was born on April 16,1959, in Longview, Texas to Nora Buchanan and Tommy Cooksey.

Diann attended school in the Longview Independent School District, and was a graduate of B.M. I. Business Institute receiving a license as a Certified Nurses Assistant.

She was employed by several nursing homes and group homes in Longview, until her health began to fail and she then went on disability.

She was a very happy and high-spirited person who loved people, her church family and all the elderly that she cared for over the years. She also had a deep love for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She loved to laugh, work Word Puzzle books, read, listen to Gospel music and sing. She was a good cook and a dynamic baker of sweets.

Diann was a member of Plain Truth K.O.G.I.C., where she served as Usher, Praise and Worship Leader and was on the Hospitality Committee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Diann departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Longview Regional Hospital.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Madera Hilburn; children, Sabrina Buchanan, Altonius Buchanan and Demisha Everth; Lachandria, Trevoris, Meyanna Hilburn; sisters, Tyronda (Elder Dennis) Jones, Tonia Levingston, Valda Lloyd and Francis Hayes; 2nd father and mother, Bishop Curtis and Dorothy Slay; father and mother-in-law, Rev. Madero (Diane) Hilburn; sister-in-law, Stacy Davis; brothers-in-law, Juan (Regina) Hilburn, Ricardo (Erica)Hilburn, Francisco (Deborah) Hilburn and Reberto Hilburn; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a special aunt, Carlin Thomas, who took her in and helped care for her. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
