With heavy hearts, we announce the transition of Doreian Vashawn Kennison, a loving and deeply devoted child of God, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born to Raymond James and Deborah Kennison on September 17, 1975, he brought light, protection, warmth into the lives of all who knew him.
Doreian found great purpose and joy in his work as an electrician in residential and commercial construction, and in countless other trades, always ready to serve and help those in need. He was unwavering in his faith, never ashamed of the gospel of Christ and passionately sharing the saving message of the cross. Known for his willingness to lend a helping hand, he carried strength and kindness in equal measure, was a force to be reckoned with, and always staying grounded with unwavering loyalty and a genuine, no-nonsense attitude.
On December 22, 2012, he married his high school sweetheart, Shanya Renee Williams, sealing a timeless love story that began in their youth and grew deeper with each passing year, the sweetest gift and a continual song in their hearts. Together they share 7 children, Aaliaya (deceased), Aaliyah, Aalanah, Zhixya, Doreian, Zhaloreian, and Zoell, and 2 grandchildren Aaliaya and Jarvis within their union.
Doreian is proceeded in death by Deborah Kennison (mother), Raymond James (father), Arthur James Sr. (grandfather), Janie James (grandmother), Anthony Kennison, Sr. (grandfather), Ida (Felix) Kennison (grandmother), Anthony Kennison, Jr. (uncle), Krystal James (cousin), and Shawn James (cousin). He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Shanya Kennison, children, grandchildren, sister Latori Keosha Pines, best friend/brother Ariel Santchi, and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish the memories and legacy he leaves behind.
Though his earthly journey has ended, the warmth of his smile, sound of his laughter, and the love he shared will forever live in the hearts of all who knew him. We rejoice in knowing that he has finished his race, fought the good fight of faith, and triumphed as a warrior over every trial. He rests safely in the arms of God’s, always and forever loved, respected, and appreciated.
