Doris Jones Street was born to the parents of Jessie Wyatt Jones Jr. and Vera Mae Jackson Jones on July 13, 1964, in Longview, TX in Good Shepherd Hospital (both parents preceded her in death).
At a young age, Sister Jones Street accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She grew up in the Faith Holy Temple Church in Gladewater, Texas. As a faithful servant of God, she was an active participant in praise service and choir. She was reared in the Post Oak Community that’s located in Longview, Texas, while attending Longview Independent Schools. She graduated from Longview High School in 1983.
Soon after graduation, she met and married her now devoted and loving husband, Burnis LaDale Street. They have been happily married since May 25, 1984; for over thirty-eight loving years. During their union, they were blessed with two children: a son, Corey Jermaine Street and daughter, Erica Renee Street.
As career choices, she was a Home Health Aide for 5 years at Jordan Home Health Service. Later, she became a devoted Teacher's Assistant for Longview ISD, where she educated Pre-K to 5th grade students with nurture and love. During her 22 years as an educator, she taught at South Ward Elementary and East Texas Montessori Prep Academy (ETMCA). Sister Jones Street also served in the following capacities: Hospitality, Sunday School Secretary, song in The Women Mass Choir, Conducted Praise Service, and a devoted member of Lewis Chapel CME Church for over 20 years.
She leaves to cherish her memories the following loved ones: Burnis LaDale Street, husband; Corey Jermaine Street, son (Shronda); Erica Renee' Street, daughter; 3 sisters: Gloria Jenell Newton; Glenda Casodary Jones and Brenda Jewell Jones Rollins; 1 brother: Randy Stuart Jones (Annette); 3 brothers: preceded her in death Jessie Jones, Wilton Kyle Jones, Sr. and Billy Ray Jones (the late Patricia). She also leaves behind 3 brothers-in-law: Charles Street (Aza Lee), Joey Street (Belinda), Wayne Street (Victoria) and 1 sister-in-law, Trena Street Bell (the late Tim Bell). Moreover, she leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
