Dorothy Jones Watkins

Dorothy Mae Jones Watkins was born in Ore City, TX on May 4, 1940 to the late Eark and Annie Lou Bradford Jones.

She attended Galilee High School in Hallsville, TX. At an early age, she was added to the Church of Christ (Sweet Home). Her last church family home was Woodland Hill Church of Christ.

Sister Dorothy worked at Good Shepherd Hospital and enjoyed private sitting. She was an awesome cook and loved to feed her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by daughters, Mary Nell Coleman-Morgan and Vanessa Thomas, 6 brothers, 6 sisters and 1 grandson.

Dorothy departed this life on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her sons, Willie James Coleman and Mickal Charles Thomas; sisters, Daisy Taylor and Leana Jones of Longview, TX; brothers, Joseph (Lynn) of Hallsville, TX, Robert (Faye), Clyde, Royce, all of Longview, TX, Carl (Verdell) of Marshall, TX; granddaughters, Jacoda Walker and Keyauntra Austin; special bonus granddaughter, Brittany Hicks-Willis, grandson, Cardaleous LaCharles Johnson; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and 3 special bonus grandchildren; and a host of loved ones and friends.
