Dyral Borens Obituary

Dyral Lafarris Borens was born February 26, 1959 to Percy and Flossie Borens, both of whom preceded him in death. He resided in Longview, Texas.

Dyral accepted Jesus Christ into his life at an early age and was a faithful member of the East Springfield Missionary Baptist Church. He served as an ordained deacon, choir member, and the adult Sunday School teacher.

He graduated from Gilmer High School in 1978. Upon graduating, he joined the workforce performing various tree trimming jobs before securing a job at LeTourneau, Inc. (Nucor) Steel Company. He labored there for over 30 years until his declining health caused him to retire.

Dyral married the love of his life, Priscilla on February 20, 1982. Together they had 3 children: Selena, Kayla and Spencer.

He was a “people person” and made friends wherever he would go, whether on the job, at the gym, the grocery store, or church. In his younger years, he was a competitive weight lifter and “gym rat”. He also enjoyed watching and attending NHRA racing.

He leaves to mourn: his devoted wife, Priscilla; daughters, Selena Boyce (Brandon), Kayla Borens (Terrell Lamb, fiancé); son, Spencer Borens (Victoria); grandchildren, Cassidy Boyce and Brauden Borens, who held a special place in his heart; brothers, Larry Borens (Carolyn) of Baton Rouge, LA, Delbert Borens Sr. (Betty), George Borens (Paula) of Longview, TX; sisters, Rosa Lee Hunter, Shirley Willis, Ann Hill, Gail Tennison (Richard) of Longview, TX and Rose Wright of Bettie, TX. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his in-laws, Edward and Bobbie Caldwell of Diana, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, family and church family.
