Ella Ruth Hundley, also known as Claudia Faye, passed away on December 8, 2023, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 75. Born on April 26, 1948, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, Ella was a beloved wife, mother, sister, stepmother, and grandmother.
Ella was a fun-loving and joyful individual, known for her comical nature and caring demeanor. She had a compassionate heart and always went out of her way to help others. Her warm and kind personality touched the lives of many.
In her career, Ella was a self-employed seamstress. With her skill and creativity, she crafted beautiful garments and brought joy to those who wore her creations. She took great pride in her work and was admired for her attention to detail.
Ella received her education at Booker T. Washington High School and furthered her studies at Jarvis Christian College. She valued education and believed in the importance of continuous learning.
Outside of her professional life, Ella had a passion for crafting. She enjoyed smocking, embroidery, and various other artistic endeavors. Her talent and dedication were evident in every piece she created.
Ella's faith was an essential part of her life, and she found solace and inspiration at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church. It was within the walls of this place of worship that she sought guidance and strength.
Ella is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert Hundley; her son Nicky Hundley; her daughter Robyn Edwards (Michael); her stepson Darrell Hundley (Valla); her stepdaughter Angie Hundley; her sisters, Norma Coleman (Donald) and Gayl Pippins; her stepsisters, Betsy Jones (Patrick) and Raquel Fuller; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father William Henry Wells Sr., her mother Ruthenia Moore, her sister Exia Simmons, and her brother William Henry Wells Jr. Ella will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Her memory will be cherished, and her legacy will live on through the love and joy she shared with others. May she rest in eternal peace.
