Erica Patrice Hendrix was born in Lone Star TX, November 2, 1965, to the parentage of Willie and Ethel Faye Hamilton Smith.

A 1984 graduate of Daingerfield High School, Erica was a Majorette, and a member of the Tiger band. After high school, Erica attended East Texas State University, Lamar University and Kilgore College.

Erica married her High School Sweetheart, Johnny Hendrix, May 25, 1991.

She was employed in the retail world where she never met a stranger, KB Toys, Mervyns, Old Navy, Children’s Place, Lane Bryant and returned to Old Navy, where she was presently the Longview Store Manager.

At an early age Erica became a member of Mt. Mitchell Church of Christ, attended Rollins Addition Church of Christ, and later became a founding member of the Woodland Hill Church in 2006.

Erica was preceded in death by her grandparents, Thomas and Lillie Pearl Hamilton, and John Henry and Lottie Smith, father, Henry Smith and son, Ethan.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband of 31 years, Johnny; her amazing daughter, Taylor; the apple of her eye granddaughter, Teagan; mother, Ethel Faye; sisters, Nicole (Corey) Durham and Kim (Eric) Strickland; aunt, Linda Hamilton; mother-in-law, Priella Hendrix; father-in-law, Hosie Johnson Jr.; special friends, Robbie Austin, Tonya Cason, Yvette Craig, Shelia Ford, Frances Johnson, and Julie Yap, Daingerfield Class of 1984; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and many many friends.
