Erma Bryant was born April 18, 1937 in Tyler, Texas (Smith County) to Julius and Seawillow Everhart.
She graduated Valedictorian from Morningside High School in Memphis, TN in 1954.
In 1957, Erma became a member of McDonald Street Church of Christ. Upon moving to Kilgore, TX she moved her membership to Westview Church of Christ. Later on in life she moved to Woodland Hill Church of Christ where she remained.
She worked several different jobs until she moved to Longview where she worked for Eastman Chemical for 18 1/2 years and retired. She also worked for Buckner Westminster Place for 13 years where she had to resign due to illness.
She married F.C. Harden in 1956, to this union came two children, Jerry and Michael Harden. In the 60's she married Joe Bryant and they remained married for 30 plus years. To this union two kids were born, Janice and Joel Bryant.
Erma was preceded in death by her first husband F.C. Harden, 2 kids Bobby Jean and Janice, and second husband Joe Bryant.
She is survived by: 4 kids, Jerry Harden, Lynn “Waco” Smith, Joel Bryant all of Longview, TX and Michael (Cheryle) Harden of Hillsboro, TX; having reared as her own children, granddaughter Monek Elder and great-granddaughters Kierra Smith and N'Dia Elder; 4 bonus children, Michael (Pamela) Simmons of Hillsboro, TX, Barbara Smith of Longview, TX, Gloria Cary of Arlington, TX, Kenneth (Kim) Bryant of Murphy, TX; 17 grandkids; 21 great-grandkids; 3 great-great-grandkids, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
