Evette Wobberton-Bell, a beloved woman known for her love, compassion, and dedication to her family, passed away on February 18, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on January 11, 1969, in Longview, Texas, to the late Ozell and Naomi Wobberton. Evette's legacy will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
Throughout her life, Evette displayed a deep sense of love and commitment to her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in supporting her children and grandchildren in all their endeavors, whether it be sports, activities, or simply providing a listening ear. Her warm and welcoming nature made everyone feel like part of the family, as she opened her home to countless individuals and showered them with love and care.
Evette possessed a passion for cooking and catering, which led her to pursue a career in the culinary arts. Graduating from Kilgore College with an Associate of Applied Science Culinary Degree, she excelled as a Master Chef with a creative flair for her craft. As the proud owner of BellWobb's Financial and More, a Texas Notary, and an Independent Insurance Agent, Evette was constantly seeking new opportunities for growth and learning.
In February 2001, Evette crossed paths with the love of her life, Rodgerick "Bookie" Bell. Their union was a testament to their unwavering bond, and on June 11, 2007, they exchanged vows, celebrating 24 years of happiness and love together. Their relationship was built on a foundation of trust, respect, and mutual devotion, setting an example of true partnership and companionship. Evette's faith was an integral part of her life, as she devoted herself to Christ and found solace and strength in her church community. A faithful member of Holy Truth Ministries, under the guidance of Pastor Bishop Luther L. Turner Jr., Evette found comfort and support in her spiritual journey, enriching her soul and guiding her moral compass.
Evette will be remembered for her infectious laughter, warm smile, and kind heart. Her legacy of love, compassion, and selflessness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known her. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Rodgerick Bell; daughters, Regina (Tony) Jamerson, Freda Wobberton, Porsha Wobberton Bell, and Denedra Lacy; sister, Jeanetta Writt; brothers, Fredrick Writt, Paul Writt, Randy (Linda) Writt, Darrell Writt, Christopher (Tarsha) Alexander, Petey (Linda) Alexander, Caesar (Shannon) Alexander, Marvin Price, and Melvin Price; grandchildren, Davadius, Ja’Qualyn, Skylor, Da’Quavion, Tyler, Ja’Kadrian, Charles, Jr., Markiest, Kaegan, and A’zhya; sixteen great grandchildren; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
