Helen Whitaker Crain, age 91, had a peaceful home-going on Wednesday, May 25, 2022.
Helen W. Crain was born to the union of R. P. Whitaker Sr. and Minnie Lee Lawson Whitaker on May 11, 1931. She accepted Christ at an early age at the Center Baptist Church in White Oak Texas.
Helen W. Crain was united in marriage to James D. Crain Sr. on January 6, 1955. Together they had six sons and one daughter.
She and her husband joined Bethel Baptist Church in Longview, Texas later in life, where she served faithfully as a deaconess.
Helen W. Crain was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Hazel Coleman, brother, R. P Whitaker Jr, and one son, Robert Crain.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Alvin Whitaker (Brenda) of Longview, Texas, James Crain Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, Jerry L. Crain of Tacoma, Washington, Terry L. Crain (Martha) of Longview, Texas, Vieta M. Crain of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Rev. Stevie W. Crain Sr. (Gaylynne) of Longview, Texas.
Although Helen Crain has left this earthly realm to enter her heavenly home, her lineage continues through her eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She led a full and rich life. She will be greatly missed.
