Homer James McAllister was born April 13, 1937 in Mt. Enterprise, Texas. He was the third child born to Curtis and Beatrice Wallace McAllister.
Homer moved to Longview approximately 60 years ago. He worked for ARCO Oil Company, Lively Olds, White Security Company, and enjoyed delivering pizza.
Homer was a faithful member of Red Oak Baptist Church. He served as a loyal deacon and enjoyed singing in the mass choir and male chorus. Homer received a "Faithful 50 Plus Years Member" plaque from Red Oak.
Homer never met a stranger. He enjoyed talking and was pleasant to be around. His blessed life came to a close Sunday, October 17, 2021 at home.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted wife of 6 years, Carolyn Lockett McAllister; one brother, Rev. Dwayne McAllister, Sr. and his wife Willie; four sisters, El'Doris McGill, Cellerstene Wilkins and her husband Herman, Nellie Hill, and Debra Alexander; sister-in-law, Marilyn Scott and her husband Ray Sr., nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and Red Oak Baptist Church Family.
