Howard Moore was born on October 12,1940, in Longview, Texas to the parentage of Hamon Moore and Sophie Wade Moore and was the third born of eight children. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Pleasant Green Baptist Church.
He received his education from Gregg County public schools and graduated from Ned E. Williams High School. His early career led him to Boeing Aircraft Factory in Wichita, Kansas. After returning home to Longview, he worked for Continental Can and retired from Rexam Can Company after almost 40 years of service.
Before his illness, Howard did many things. He liked staying busy, working with his hands, and loved mechanical work. He especially liked working on car motors. For many years he was employed part-time as an auto mechanic. He had a passion for buying used cars, fixing them, and testing his repair work.
Howard departed this life on Monday, March 21, 2022, and was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Mellowneze Moore Davis, and Kaynell Moore, and two nieces, Yolanda Davis and Jacqueline Moore.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished by his daughter, Wanda Moore and son, Gerry Moore, both of Dallas, Texas, brothers, Glenn Moore (Shirley) and Calvin Moore (Jackie) of Longview, Texas; sisters, Alice Nealy of Houston, Texas, Willie Mae Pierce (Joe) and Willie Pearl Jackson of Longview, Texas; grandson Bradley McDaniel of Dallas, Texas and nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends.
