James Hunt Obituary

James Melvin Hunt was the first child born to the proud parents of Mr. James Jr. and Frances Eva Mae Lang Hunt on November 28, 1957.

James attended Sabine Valley School in his early childhood years until the integration period. At that time he attended Pine Tree I.S.D. where he was a top notch athlete and running back until graduation in 1977. He attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX on a full athletic scholarship.

At an early age he joined Hughes Chapel C.M.E. Church where his father was a member and his brother Gary Hunt and mother were musicians.

In 1977, James met the love of his life, Mrs. Martha Crowder Hunt. They were united in marriage on November 29, 1997, and continued to reside in Carrollton, GA. He helped to raise a son and a daughter. He worked at Sony for years and then later retired from his current job of over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his sister Charlotte Marie Hunt, his father James A. Hunt Jr., and  nephew Evan Alexander Hunt.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Martha Crowder Hunt, Carrollton, GA; daughter, Kim Pouncy (Mardric); son, Jermaine D. Williamson; granddaughters, Malaysia Gentry, Jayla Williamson; mother, Frances Eva Mae Hunt, Longview, TX; brothers, Gary Hunt (Jami) Frisco, TX, Ronnie Hunt (Meisha) Albuquerque, NM; sister, Cassandra L. Hunt, Longview, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
