Jia'yah Dasianiq Oliver Obituary

Life Reflections

Ms. Jia’yah Dasianiq Oliver, was born May 29, 2002 in Longview, Texas to the parentage of Shenikia Equon Powell and Terrence Maguel Oliver.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful and very active youth member of Red Oak Missionary Baptist Church. She loved serving the Lord and participating in Sunday School, youth meetings, singing in the choir, and ushering!

Jia’yah graduated from Longview High School in 2020 and was currently enrolled in their Senior Plus Program. While attending L.H.S. she fondly enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics and receiving her Letterman jacket. She was an avid football fan and proudly cheered for the Longview Lobos and Texas A&M Aggies (Haynes King). Jia’yah loved taking care of her dog Rosie and baby dolls (Chloe, Elijah, and Emily Rose). Her favorite pastimes were playing softball and swimming.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Louis and Loretta Powell; paw-paw, Terry Bee; cousin, Themeshia Johnson; paternal grandfather, Lonnie Oliver, Sr.; and uncle, Kenneth Oliver.

Jia’yah leaves to cherish her precious memories: mother, Shenikia Powell; maw-maw, Vanessa Bee; paw-paw, Hubert Hatcher, Sr. all of Longview, TX; aunts, Keshia Powell of Dallas, TX, Dawn Chalk (Morris) of Tyler, TX, and Veronica Moore of Longview, TX; uncles, D’Angelo Thomas (LaTosha) and Hubert “Jr” Mitchell all of Longview, TX; great-aunts, Arnetus Johnson and Cathy Woolridge (Darcey) all of Longview, TX; great-uncles, Clifford Powell (Yvette) and Dwight Powell all of Longview, TXfather, Terrence Oliver of Dallas, TX; grandmother, Dover Oliver of Henderson, TX; half-brother, Tyarron Oliver of Tyler, TX; aunts, Brenda Davis (Bobby) of Arlington, TX and Diane Hill of Henderson, TX; uncles, Lonnie Oliver, Jr. of Red Oak, TX and Jermell Oliver of Lancaster, TX.
