Brother Jimmy Coby, along with his twin, was born to Jessie and Alice Smith Coby in Hallsville, Texas on November 27, 1954.
Brother Coby was added to the church at an early age in Marshall, TX and later attended Union Church of Christ.
Jimmy attended Union Grove High School and was a 1974 graduate. He later attended Kilgore College.
He was a long-time employee of Russell’s and Sons where he was a dedicated employee for over 40 years.
Jimmy was an avid body builder, and started promoting body building after he stopped actively actively competing himself. He won numerous plaques, trophies, and medals. He was the founder of Jimmy Coby Classics where he promoted shows and other body builders.
On Monday, December 25, 2023, Jimmy was called home to join his mother, father, 6 sisters and 4 brothers.
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Fannie Coby and his twin sister, Jannie DeVance both of Longview, TX; along with a host of nieces, nephews, a special cousin, Keyvontray Renfro; and a special friend, Olivia Castillo.
