Kathy Laquita Kennedy was born Tuesday, June 8th, 1959 to Mary Lynn Henderson and the late Major Kennedy, Jr. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of October 11th, at the age of 64. Kathy was a testament to her parents that provided her with a strong foundation of values and compassion.
At Kilgore High School, Kathy excelled in office education. Kathy graduated from Kilgore High School, Class of 1977 with a bright future ahead of her and continued her education at Kilgore College. Following her graduation, she later moved to Dallas, TX and became successfully employed with County Seat’s Payroll Department. Following her retirement, she returned to Kilgore to care for her mother.
Kathy was a woman of unwavering strength. This determination was seen in everything she did. She returned to Kilgore College to obtain her Texas Real Estate Salesperson License. She later graduated with her BS Degree from the University of Texas at Tyler School of Education. Kathy was passionate about positively impacting the lives of young minds. She was employed with Longview ISD and later Reliable Life Insurance. Kathy was beloved by all her colleagues.
She was a member of St. Mary Christian Church, Bivins, TX where she supported the mission and vision of the church ministry.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father Major Kennedy, Jr., brother Rev. David Daniels, sisters Leola and Lola Marshall, and niece Kasha Daniels.
Kathy is survived by her mother, Mary Lynn Brown; brothers, Curtis Daniels (Judy), of Kilgore, TX, Rev. Donald Henderson (Cynthia), of Bivins, TX; sisters, Debbie Pegues Helms (Michael), of Houston, TX, Cherlyn Sanders Ingram, of Dallas, TX, Charles Kennedy, Ricky Kennedy, Lydia Witcher, all of Kilgore, TX, Kenneth Kennedy (Bonita), of Cedar Hill, TX, Ora Jean Kennedy Anderson, of Missouri City, TX; her aunt, Patsy Henderson, of Kilgore, TX; special cousins, Vickie Henderson, of Longview, TX, and Jerry Reddic (Brenda), of Overton, TX; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
