Kenneth Hendrix Obituary

Kenneth Earl Hendrix was born on September 24, 1964, in Henderson, Texas to the parents of Van Earl Hendrix and Emma Clay Hendrix and was raised in the community of Mayflower, Texas.

He accepted Christ at an early age at Smith Chapel Baptist Church in Mayflower, Texas under the leadership of the late Rev. J. C. Beckworth. The Hendrix family decided to relocate to Longview, Texas, where he attended Red Oak Baptist Church. He began primary school at Tatum Elementary and then Jodie McClure Elementary. He also attended Foster Middle School and Longview High School where he graduated in the Class of 1983. During his school years he played football, baseball, and ran track. He had the opportunity to play football for the Longview Lobos. After graduation, Kenneth accepted and signed a letter of intent to Wharton Jr. College in Wharton, Texas to play football.

Kenneth had many hobbies, but his favorite ones were detailing cars, riding horses, playing dominoes, cooking, having family and friends’ gatherings, and serving as the Lieutenant in the Rackin ‘N Rollin Trailride Club.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Joe V. and Bonnie Hendrix and his maternal grandparents Arthur and Stella Clay.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughters, Tyshanna Hendrix and Khalani Hendrix; his parents, Van Earl and Emma Clay Hendrix; sister, Laurie Ann Hendrix Sneed; brothers, Alfred Leon Hendrix (Sharron) and Marcus Jones Sr. (Tina); nieces, Tonique Hendrix, Shakeal Hunter (L’Votre), and Bre Reynolds (Joshua); nephews, VanKelon Hendrix (Jasmine), Johnathan Sneed, Ryan Willis, and Marcus Jones Jr.; great nieces, Hailee Hendrix and Sayler Jones; great nephews, L’Quavion Hunter, L’Tayvion Hunter, L’Quorian Hunter, L’Marion Hunter and Marcus Jones III; a very special sister, Shun Ramsour and a large host of uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends.
