Kevin Loran Harris Sr.

Mr. Kevin Loran Harris was born August 21, 1962, in Longview, Texas, to the late James C. and Dara Lee Harris. On August 26, 2025, Kevin departed to his heavenly home.

Kevin attended Longview High School, Class of 1980. During his school years, he enjoyed playing on the Longview Lobos Football team and was a proud member of the 300 Weight Club.

He was baptized at an early age at Bethel Baptist Church of Longview by Reverend T. F. Simmons. Later in life, Kevin became a devoted member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J. D. Palmer.

He was employed by Goodwill Industries of Longview, Texas, where he flourished in his career and served as a mentor to many young men. His dedication and compassion left a lasting impact on those he worked alongside. After 26 years of service, Kevin retired in 2008.

Beyond his career, Kevin was a man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved listening to music, barbecuing, telling jokes that could light up any room, bartending at private events, listening to high school football on Friday nights, and spending time on the porch. His humor and easygoing spirit brought joy to all who knew him.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, James C. and Dara Lee Harris; sisters, Linda K. Caraway and Glenda S. Harris; and brothers, James Harris, Willie Harris, Roger Harris, and Kenneth  Harris.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Shirley Harris; daughters, Keyerra Harris and Kristie Harris; sons, Kevin Harris Jr. (Amanda) and Kristopher Harris; grandchildren, Keasia, Kahlya,  Kaleb (whom he lovingly called his number one grandson), Kaden, Alayah, Kameron, Kelsi, Kuban, and Kamora; great-grandchildren, Kaiya, Ka’Mize, Stormi, and Serenity; siblings, Lynette Harris and Kerwin Harris; and Wade “Poochie” Patton, whom he loved as a son; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
