Lacy Sirls Obituary

LACY MAE EVERS SIRLS was born January 25, 1932 to Maggie Evers in Longview, Texas.  She attended Pleasant Hill School, in Longview, Texas.

Lacy worked as a caregiver for many years. She was very caring and would help her family and friends whenever asked. She was also an amazing cook. Oh, how she could cook that Chicken and Dressing, Greens, Butter Rolls and mouth melting Banana Pudding and Potato Pies.

Lacy gave her life to Christ at an early age. She joined Lewis Chapel CME Church and was a faithful member until her death. She was an active Stewardess for many years, and even at the time of her death she had become one of the Emeritus Stewardess of the Church. She loved singing in the Choir and was known for Jesus, Oh How I Love to Call Your Name, and I Made It.

Mama Lacy, as she was called by all, loved those grandchildren. There was nothing she would not do for them.

She was preceded in death by her mother Maggie Evers, a son Roderick Evers, daughter Barbara Watkins, and brother Reslie Evers.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Debra Walters, Pastor Patricia Fuller both of Longview, TX, and Faye Bridges (Jay) Of Rowlett, TX; two sons, Clifton (Linda) Pierce of DeSoto, TX and Robert Randall, Longview, TX; Twelve grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren; Two special friends Flora Pierce, Isadora Ingram, and Ed Sirls and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
