Today, Marvin Davis, Sr., the youngest child of Steve and Mary Davis, is honored. On February 2, 2023, Marvin was called home to his Lord and Savior. His purpose on this earth, which our Heavenly father had ordained, has been completed, and in faith, we sustain God has now granted him eternal life.
Marvin Davis, Sr. was born on October 2, 1927, in Hallsville, Texas. He received his formal education at Galilee School in Hallsville. In his early life, he married Lorene Davis McNeal. This union birthed twelve children. Later, Marvin moved to Dallas, Texas. Here, he began an over three‐decade career as a truck driver for Atrium Door. This is also where he met and married Wilma Rucker Davis. From this marriage two children were born.
While he is no longer with us, physically, his spirit lives on through his great legacy. His stories, friendship, love, and laughter will remain with the many lives he affected.
Preceded in death by his wife, father, mother, six children, and eleven siblings. To continue to celebrate his memory, Marvin leaves nine children, Maxine Walls, Bobby R. Davis (Sandra), Joetta Davis, Kathy Davis, Jackie Davis, Marcie Davis, Steven Davis, Ronnie Green, and Janice Henderson; forty grandchildren; seventy‐eight great‐grandchildren; thirty‐one great‐great‐grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
