Mattie Pearl Carter Obituary

Mattie was born in Gilmer, Texas on April 21, 1926 to Willie and Sarah Ann Carter. She lived as a youth and attended Bruce High School in Gilmer, Texas.


She accepted Christ at a young age attending actively at Lake Providence Baptist Church in Gilmer. Mattie firmly believed that nothing is impossible with God.


She married Milton Williams and no children were born to this union. She was loved and supported by Charles Edward (Possum) Carter.


She was preceded in her journey to be with her Lord and Savior by her father Willie Carter, mother Sarah Ann Carter, only sister Norma Joyce Carter, brothers Aubrey Carter, L. C. Carter, Harmon Carter, Sargeant Ozell Carter, Roosevelt Carter, Willie Carter Jr. and great-grandson LáBryan Williams.


She leaves to cherish and honor her legacy one brother, Johnny “Gunna” Carter (Carolyn); nine children, Eligia Carter Sr., Betty Jones, Loretta Wesley, Joyce Williams Brown (Ricky), Eddie Williams (Saundra), Freddie Williams, Gloria Williams Cooper (Anthony), Patricia Williams, and Tony Eugene Carter (Regina); her grandchildren who called her “Mama”, Trent, Frederick and Miranda Williams, Stephanie Williams, Marchetta Williams, Tanesha Booth, Arrielle Carter, Eligia Carter Jr. LaTricia Carter, Lotremain Williams, Mikai Brown, Eddie Williams Jr., Jeremy Cooper, Megan Cooper, Tony II, Tyrique Carter, Derrius Ross, other relatives and a host of great‐grandchildren who are a blessing.
