Obituary

Mrs. Norma Rae Hyder was born in Harrison County, Hallsville, Texas to Alton Horton and Overa Gray on May 1, 1935.

She attended Hallsville Elementary and later moved to Longview to attended Longview Colored High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons, Freddy Pryor and Reagan Menefee.

She married Raymond Hyder, and to this union 8 children were born.

She was a Nanny to the Rodriguez Family here in Longview for many years.

At an early age, she attended Mt. Gideon Baptist Church, and later St. Mark Baptist. She was a faithful member at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church until the Lord called her home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Cherryl Harlan, of Fort Worth, TX, Janice (Willis)Anderson, of Fort Worth, TX, Jacqueline Hyder, of Longview, TX, Violet Hollins, of Longview, Shonda Wilson, of Texarkana, TX; sons, Danny Hyder, Michael Horton, Terry Hyder, and Roderick Hyder, all of Longview, TX; 21 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 3 great‐great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
