On August 26, 1934, Ora Thelma Bradford Timberlake, a loving sister, mother, and grandmother, was born to Floyd Bradford and Reba Lucas Bradford in Gregg County, Texas.
Ora attended Ned E. Williams High School, where she graduated before continuing her education at Texas College in Tyler, Texas, studying education. Following graduation, she began her teaching career in West Texas, where she served for three years. She later dedicated 33 years of service to the Longview Independent School District. Ora had a deep love for helping students and was a mentor to many teachers both during and after her career.
She was a woman of great pride, known for her polished appearance and graceful presence.
In her later years, Ora joined Post Oak CME Church, where she remained a devoted member and faithful choir participant for many years. She was also a proud member of the Heroines of Jericho, Verbena Court No. 399.
Ora was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver W. Timberlake Sr.; her mother, Reba Lucas Bradford; her sisters, Jewel Slayton and Costine Bradford; her brother, A.D. Bradford; and her niece, Shadaria Templeton.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her two sons, Oliver W. Timberlake Jr. and Reginald F. Timberlake (Marvlett); her grandchildren, Nakiah Timberlake, Tabitha Timberlake, Oliver W. Timberlake III (Jenna), Rachel Timberlake Andrews (Kayne), Christopher Timberlake, and Aaron Willis; her great-grandchildren, Jai’Lyn Ryan and Janiah Ryan; her two beloved sisters, Elouise Randall (Ray) and Velma Johnson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
