On Sunday, November 27, 2022, the husband, father, grandfather, community leader, mentor, visionary, leader, servant and pastor of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Scottsville, Texas for 4 years, 7 months, 2 days left this earthly realm transitioning from time to eternity. Our human sorrow is great, but we do no sorrow as those who have no hope...

On November 3, 1964, Rev. Alvin Darnell Brown was born in Shreveport, Caddo Parish, Louisiana. The youngest child of the late Velma Ruth Brown and Thomas J. Lewis, known to his family and friends as "Bay" his siblings were the late Willie James Holland, Gregory Brown, Larry W. Brown. Early in life, at the age of seven, Alvin D. Brown was converted and baptized at the Galilee Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA under the pastorage of Rev. Dr. E. Edward Jones Sr. In 1981, he received his high school diploma from Booker T. Washington High School in Shreveport, LA.
Rev. Brown enlisted in the United States Army in 1982 and served for 16 years and considered himself a "Solider for life". Between his freshman and sophomore years, he acknowledged his call to the Gospel Ministry. Alvin studied Divinity at Liberty University. Alvin Brown was licensed to preach at 18 years of age. He was ordained a Baptist Minister in 1992. Alvin worked as an advocate for teen males, Men against Violence and has always used that expertise and knowledge in his volunteer work at East Texas Schools reaching out to trouble youth. Alvin loved inspiring, encouraging, and motivating children and youth.
In April of 2019, the Shiloh Baptist Church elected Pastor Alvin D. Brown as their pastor he gave for 4 years of service and leadership to the historic Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. Brown was a man of many accomplishments, and was the recipient of many achievements, accolades, honors, and awards in his lifetime. Pastor Brown gave his all to the ministry of God and the Members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Brown was an inspiration to all everywhere he went. He was well-loved by everyone who knew him. Alvin never met a stranger. If you didn't know him, you would before you left his presence.
