Elder Edward Walker Jr. was born November 13, 1942 in Linden, Texas to the parentage of Edward Walker Sr. and Oreda (Warren) Wallace.
He graduated from St. Paul High School in Greenville, TX and married, then moved to Tyler, TX. To this union three children were born.
Edward worked at General Electric and owned a gas station. He started a gospel group, “The Mighty Songs of Joy”. Later, he moved to Longview, TX.
He accepted God’s calling and started preaching God’s word. He pastored at New Zion Baptist Church, then God led him to start Lighthouse of Faith Church. He pastored until his passing.
Edward is survived by his wife, Anita (Clayton) Walker; three sons, Mickey Walker (LaShonda), Edward G. Walker (Myra), and Thomas Walker (Dylena) of Arlington, TX; 14 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, along with a host of other relatives.
