Ralph Page Obituary

On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Ralph Wayne Page transitioned to be with the Lord at Longview Regional Hospital in Longview, Texas, as he completed the task in which he was born.

Ralph was born on August 24, 1946 in Redwater, Texas to parents Will and Mary Alice Page.  He is the second child of seven born to his parents.  He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at the Friendship Baptist Church in Redwater. Ralph married the late Bettie Jean Turner of Hope, Ark. on July 22, 1972 at the Atlanta Street Church of Christ in Texarkana, TX. To that union two children were born, Colisa Charlene and Patrick Dewayne of Longview. Ralph united with Harrison Street Church of Christ in Longview and later the Harris Chapel Church of Christ. Ralph became a charter member of Lakeport Church of Christ where he held the position of Sunday School teacher, midweek Bible teacher, worked with the Youth department, served as Secretary, and worked with the Finance department.

Ralph was well known in Longview, Texarkana and anywhere he went as he never met a stranger.  He graduated from Macedonia High School in Texarkana where he was active in sports. After graduation, he attended Prairie View A&M University, where he became well known on campus and gained the friendship of so many others. He worked at Eastman Chemical Company from 1974 to 1996. After retirement he worked for Community Bank in Longview where he was loved and respected. He was currently employed by SSC Custodial Service as a custodian at the Ned E. Williams Elementary School in the Longview ISD. He also became self-employed performing lawn care in the local area. We will forever remember Ralph as “the Story Teller” of the family, the joy of every family gathering, full of life, exuberant spirit, one who spoke passionately to the younger generation about developing a relationship with God by studying “The Bible”.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Mary Page, and one sister, Pamela Page Young.

He is survived by one daughter, Colisa (Longview, TX); son, Patrick (Longview, TX); two grandchildren, Christina and Patrick Edward (Longview, TX); one great-grandchild, Cainen (Longview, TX); Special Friend, Leona Lilly of (Longview, TX); two brothers, Joseph (Alvia) of Fort Worth, TX and Anthony (Rosie) of Texarkana, TX; three sisters, Patricia Gray of Dickinson, TX, Brenda Lewis of Redwater, TX and Wilma (Tommy) Jamerson of Longview, TX; two uncles, Fred Page (Wichita Falls, TX) and Bobby L. Page (Redwater, TX); two aunts, Berna Dean Brown (DeSoto, TX) and Mary E. Page (Redwater, TX); along with a host of special nieces and nephews who are and will always cherish the memories of Uncle Ralph.
