Reta Sanders Obituary

Reta “Lisa” Sanders began her life on February 9, 1971 in Longview, TX to the parents of Charles Lamar Williams and Lurlene Watkins. Lisa was one of seven children; she was raised in the Easton Community for most of her young life. She attended Longview High School and finished her education at Berkley Adult School in Berkley, California. Lisa ceased to amaze her parents with her independence and willingness to help others. As a child, she accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Johnny Lee Watkins at New Jerusalem Church of God in Christ to be later served by her brother Pastor Kenneth W. Pruitt. In 1994, she began her career at Skeeter Products in Kilgore, TX where she continued to work for 26 years until her health failed her. In 1989, she united in Holy Matrimony with Aaron N. Stanford, from this union came two children. She later married Danny Sanders on January 1, 2012.

Lisa’s unique one‐of‐a‐kind personality, fearless flare for life, sweet inner spirit and deeply compassionate care and concern for everyone she met gained her endless love of all her family and so many friends along her path. She was a remarkable soul and will be truly missed. God, we extend this beautiful soul to you to love and keep until we see her again in your eternal dwelling. We love you Lisa and may you rest in peace and rejoice in God’s presence.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father Charles Lamar Williams, brother Melvin T. Pruitt, and sister Elaine Pruitt.

Lisa leaves to mourn her husband, Danny Sanders; children, Amadeus “Darius” Jones, Kameshia “Pookie” Stanford (Lamar), Aaron Bronte Stanford, KeAmber Cashae Wilson and stepchildren; mother, Lurlene Watkins; siblings, Regina Heard (Ronald), Emily Pegues, Lewis Pruitt Jr., Kenneth Pruitt, Byron Thompson (Cheryll), Carlos Lanier, Michael Williams, Marcus Williams, Earline Rosborough, Anita Williams; grandchildren, Brayden Sterling, Kamden Harris, Amari Stanford, A’nyla Sterling and a host of nieces and nephews.
