Rev. Creal Sr. Obituary

On May 8, 1946, a son, Joseph H. Creal was  born to the union of Jack and Carrie Hart Creal in the city of Yorktown, Arkansas. He was one of twelve children.

Joseph was baptized at a very young age at the Solomon Hill Missionary Baptist Church by the late Rev. J.Y. Williams, Sr.  He attended school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas where he was active on the football team.

Upon leaving school, he was drafted into the United States Army in 1964.  While serving 2 stints in the Army, he was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia, the Dominican Republic, Fort Riley, Kansas and Mainz, West Germany.

Joseph and Camille united in Holy Matrimony and brought a blended family, Renisha Virtrece and Calva Lynette.  Then the union was blessed with a daughter and a son, Sheri Gail and Joseph Henry, Jr.

In June 1977, Joseph accepted his call into the ministry under the leadership of the late Rev. W.L. Stewart at Sunrise Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.  In March 1988, he was called to Pastor the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church becoming their twentieth Pastor where he served with a joyful heart until death. Rev. Creal was very passionate and active in all facets of the convention, locally with East Texas Baptist-Longview District Association where he served as Moderator for 8 years, the Texas Educational Baptist State Convention where he served and held various positions as well as with the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. Convention Moderators Division.

Preceded in death are his parents, siblings: JD, Rachel, Samuel, Saul, Clay Lee and Mable.

Loving memories will be cherished by: Camille Creal his loving wife of 45 years; daughters, Renisha Creal Ward and her husband Anthony Sr. of Little Rock, Arkansas, Calva Terrell Powell and her husband Jeffery of Mansfield, Texas, Sheri Creal Curry and her husband Channing of Tyler, Texas and his namesake Joseph Henry Creal, Jr. and his wife Jasmin of Mansfield, Texas; grandchildren: JoAnna, Carlie, Anthony Jr., Jessica, Adriana, Alyssa, Kayla, Joseph III, Kennedy and Channing Jr.; great grandchildren:  Jadyn, Aiden and Shelton; 3 brothers: Clance Creal, Sr. of Shreveport, Louisiana, Jack Creal, Jr. and wife Sandra of Little Rock, Arkansas and Charles Creal, Sr. of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; 2 sisters: Pearlie Creal-Pope and Doris Creal-Wilkins of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, Brothers in the ministry and Bobby Anderson, his longtime friend of Muskegon, Michigan.
