James C. Johnson was born October 12, 1933 in Marlin, Texas (Falls County) to Lucille & Jesse Johnson. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in 1955. After high school he joined the U.S. Army.
In 1985, James met and married Willie Dean Jones and gained six children to this union.
James was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, one daughter and a great granddaughter.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wonderful loving wife of 40 years: Willie Dean; children: Naomi Smith, Dirona (Lester) Robinson, Chrystl (Darrell) Ardoin, Kimberley Smith, Margene (Latisha) Smith and Courtney Smith; sister: Margaret Black; four sisters-in-law, Vernell, Mertie, Mary and Ella; 3 brothers-in-law, William, Edmund, and Wilton (Linda); 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
