Jerry J. Kendricks was born September 1st, 1951 to James A. Kendricks and Opal F. Kendricks. He received his education from Richardson ISD, and graduated high school from Hamilton Park, Class of 1969. He later attended Austin College in Sherman, TX, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree of Business Management.
He accepted Christ at an early age where he served as a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Garland, TX. He was united in holy matrimony on March 26th, 1972 to Barbara J. Kendricks. They were married for over 50 years. Later in life, he united with Triumph Church and Kingdom of God in Christ in Rylie, TX. Jerry relocated to Longview, TX where he then united with Life Church of Longview. Jerry served with pastoral duties, and was a faithful member until his health failed.
Jerry worked at KFC, where he later retired from. In his leisure time, he enjoyed serving in the community, starting a prayer line, attending church, and spending time with his family. Jerry had a heart of god and was there for anyone who needed him.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two siblings Tommy & Tracy Kendricks, and two grandsons Kaboris Kenny & Jayden Kenney.
He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, LeDeal Kenney (Danelle), Tyrone Kenney (Tonshona), Jerry Kendricks Jr. (Eva); three siblings, Don Kendricks (Sabrina), Sheila White and Alnita McCowan (Stanley); 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a special loving caregiver of 10 years, Veronica Roberson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
