Obituary

Mr. Roygus Louis Taylor was born on June 19, 1943 to Quincy Taylor and Luvern Thurmond in Longview, Texas. Roygus received his formal education at Ned Williams graduating class of 1962 through the Longview ISD Public school system, where excelled. Later in life Roygus would Southwestern Adventist College for Theology now known as Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) in Keene, Texas. Roygus accepted Christ as his Savior in 1959 with Seventh Day Adventist Church under the Southwestern Conference Texas. Where he served as a faithful servant that truly loved the Lord.

Roygus spent his younger adult life in U.S. Army serving 2 years in Germany reaching the rank of E-5 in the U.S. ARMY as a Medic. After the Army. Roygus entered the Southwestern Region Conference of the SDA church 1969-70. He moved on to the following companies: Breakthrough Productions, Lancaster, Texas, and then would go to work for Pinkerton Security until he retired.

Mr. Taylor resided in the DFW area most of his adult life until 2015 when he returned home to Longview, Texas while visiting a neighboring church he would find his wife Florence Ramire Brown until his departure for life on December 28, 2022. To this union no children were born.

Roygus is preceded by his father Quincy Lee Taylor, Sr. and mother Luvern Thurmond Taylor Thomas, brothers Preston Taylor, Jodie Taylor, Simon C. Taylor and Calvin Wendell Taylor, Uncle Celester Thurmond, nephew Marcus Brown. 

He leaves to cherish is memories a wife Florence Taylor, Six brothers Charles (Velma) Taylor of Dallas, Texas, Sidney (Rosie) Taylor, Quincy Taylor, Vernon Taylor, Kentha Ray (Betty), Billy (Yvette) Taylor, 3 sister Reba Candida, Robbie Brooks, and Catha (Greg) Wright of Longview, Texas. And a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other loved ones and friends.
