Mrs. Rubie Lee Willis Chatham was born April 14,1937 in Panola County to the late Florence Steverson Garrison and Tom Willis. She attended Tatum Public School.
Rubie Lee was a member of the Original Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was a Homemaker.
She married Algin Chatham on January 26, 1956. To this union 10 children were born.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Algin Chatham; five children: Joan Francis, Lender Brown, Alvin, Gary and Terry Chatham; 2 Grandchildren: Nakisha Von Shun Chatham and Jalen Smith; 6 Brothers: George Bell, Richard and Samuel Willis, O.D and James Norris, Hubert Birdsong and 1 Sister: Lola Mae Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Daughters: Ruby (Curtis) Starling of Longview, TX, Jean Edmond and Ruby D. Chatham of Easton, TX, Sandra (Greg) Smith of Fort Worth, TX; Sons: Otis (Vories) Chatham of Easton, TX, Orlando (Shannon) Chatham of Longview, TX; 1 Brother: Robert Norris and 2 Sisters: Franceis Griffin, Alice Edwards; Special Pet whom she loved dearly, Ringo.
Rubie Lee was a perfectionist in every thing she did, there was no task that she could not handle. Her Saying was: ʺIf Youʹre not going to do it right donʹt do it at all.ʺ
