Sammie D. Thomas was born October 23, 1931 to the parentage of James Thomas, Sr. and Francie Harris‐Thomas. Sammie was the second born of ten children. He accepted Christ at an early age and often attended Pleasant Homes Baptist Church, Fort Worth, TX and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Karnack, TX.
He received his formal education from G. W. Carver High School, Karnack Independent School District. Later, he worked at AMC; Lay Construction Co. (Fort Worth, TX) and retired from Lonnie/BOTT Watson in Keller, TX. Sammie was a long‐time member of the Circle 5 Riding Club in Fort Worth, TX, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, caring and riding his horses (Queen & Ebony), watching football, dancing, Caddo Lake, and most of all spending time with his family.
Sammie was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Francis Thomas, brothers Arthur B., Robert D., Willie, Eddie and James Thomas and his sister Joyce Meakins.
He leaves precious memories to be cherished by his daughters, Debbie Ramirez, Sammie Thomas, Yolanda Thomas; step‐daughter, Melody Thomas; brother, Johnny Thomas; sisters, Ola Coleman, and Lula Mae Broadnax; aunt, Katie Brown; nephew like‐ a‐son, Dwaine “Ernest” Thomas (Faye Thomas) all of Fort Worth, TX; life‐time friend/cousin, Jake Haywood and Grandy Thomas; 12 grandchildren; 13 great‐grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
